What I Did and What I Want To Do: A List That Confirms That I’m Sort Of A Bad-Ass, Live Out Loud Rocker Chick and I’m Just Getting Started

This post is inspired by the June issue of More magazine that I flipped through at the checkout stand: the editors and staff listed proud accomplishments of what they did and things that they want to do in the future.

I decided to make a list also because when I feel like my life is ho-hum  (like today),  it’s good to remind myself of some of the things that I have done within the last 3 years – and the exciting things that are still to come.

What I did: swim with sea turtles.
What I want to do: swim with dolphins and rays.

What I did: wrote a children’s book.
What I want to do: turn it into an interactive ebook.

What I did: took French lessons at continuing education college.
What I want to do: spend 6 weeks at a summer intensive language school in France.

What I did: organized a Girl’s Trip to Paris.
What I want to do: go back to Reims for chocolate bouchons.

What I did: made kettlebells my primary exercise and got into the best shape of my life.
What I want to do: add a weekly yoga class to my exercise routine.

What I did: adopted Paleo eating (and cooking) as a lifestyle.
What I want to do: join a CSA and buy most of my produce and meat from local farms.

What I did: took english riding lessons.
What I want to do: spend a week at a working dude ranch.

What I did: hiked an active volcano in Hawaii.
What I want to do: zip line in Costa Rica.

What I did: deepened our feeling of community by organizing a multi-family vacation the last 3 years.
What I want to do: volunteer my dog and myself for therapy work in children’s hospitals.

What I did: took my kids on their first European vacation.
What I want to do: take my family on safari in Africa.

What I did: be involved in my son’s education from his very first day of pre-k until his high school graduation last month.
What I want to do: emotionally support his growth into an independent adult while in college and beyond.

And this is just a small sampling of what makes me awesome and the ways that I aspire to be even more glorious.

How about you?  What makes say “I am all that – Go me!” and what are your dreams?

Great list – both the done and to-do part!! I have a mental bucket list, but it needs to be more official.

Hi Rachel! It does help me to write down my What I Want To Do list because it makes me plan to actually do those things.
