I want my daughters to feel a little if the Santa Claus “magic” but I don’t want them feeling Santa but I don’t want them to feel that Santa is most relevant thing on Christmas Day. I told my 3 y/o once that “Daddy finances Santa” and she DIDN’T appreciate me saying that :/

Yes, I know what you mean Darcie. We really try to downplay Santa too (while still keeping him alive), but this year it seems like my daughter is obsessed; she has written at least 5 letters to Santa and constantly asks me questions about the North Pole. I think she’s getting this from school perhaps.

We do (and have always done) Santa. But I’m having second thoughts. I worry about making the big jolly guy too front and central, and stealing the limelight from the One True King. This is the first year I’ve had this dilemma, and I think it’s because it’s the first year my son “gets” Christmas. We don’t want to exclude Santa, but I do want to downplay him. Just not sure how to find that happy medium yet.
