Holy Converse, Batman!

My son is a great kid and I don’t say that just because I gave birth to him.  He’s brilliant, kind and funny.  And he is pretty thrifty, which I can understand when he is using his own money, but he is thrifty with my money as well.   He insists that we buy his jeans from Old Navy and doesn’t really ask for anything outside of a couple of birthday and Christmas presents.

Sometimes this “thriftiness” is taken a bit too far.  Months ago I noticed that his Converse looked a little worn, but despite my pleas to buy him a new pair, he maintained that his shoes were just fine and no, he doesn’t need a new pair, thank you very much.  I acquiesced and let him wear his shoes without further comment.

That is, until noticed this:

And this:

“Okay Mom,” he said finally, “You can buy me a new pair.”

I have two sons like this..And what is it about the Chuck’s they for some odd reason love to wear out??? My boys only wear Chuck Taylor’s and Vans(My Cali Kids) and really like to get the use of the shoe as well!
Well take care,Happy shoe shopping.

Whoa! At least he’s not asking for $200 kicks, right? :-) I actually have a pair of Ed Hardy’s that I loved sooo much that I wore them out. Not quite as bad though.

Ha! I just bought my son some shoes the other day, He begged me for months but his shoes were new and he wanted more, total opposite. lol

Love it. You would think my son has daggers for toes the way he wrecks sneakers – and he’s quick to point them out! :)

Cute post!

What a sweet kid! That is soo funny!! I guess you spend all your money on feeding him!!

You’re blessed/lucky! Encourage his “thriftiness”, it might be thrown to the wind when he’s off to college!
