Betcha Didn’t Know (#3 Random Fact About Me)

There’s a note going around on Facebook, “25 Random Facts About Me”, where people tag you to read their 25 random facts and then you are supposed to in turn write 25 facts about yourself. I liked reading about my friends and definitely found out things that I didn’t know before. Well, I figured that I needed more room than Facebook allowed, so why not bring it on home where I can get really funki? Get ready to find out more than you ever wanted to know about Funkidivagirl.

#3 I have a library call number.

Right in here.

My master’s thesis is in the UCLA library; call number LD791.8.A25 K635. And I didn’t even know; my husband just found this last week while googling my name or something. Was I ever surprised; I thought the only copy was in my garage in a Rubbermaid storage tub. Well, when I found out that it is in the library, I dug it out from under heaps of junk, dusted off the cover and set it on my home bookshelf where it rightly belongs.

Not that I wasn’t proud of it when I wrote it; I was. But I was also physically, mentally and emotionally drained from the whole experience. My mentor, the head of my thesis committee, was a real tough cookie. I love her to death, credit her for making my graduate school experience wonderful, and respect her immensely, but she whooped my butt good before she finally signed off. So by the time it was all over, I put it away and didn’t look at it again; I was just happy to be done. Now many years later I get to appreciate my hard work without all the emotion attached and it’s pretty cool.
