We take great care to ensure that every shoe is going to feel great from the moment our consumer tries it on. *Taken from the UGG website. My kids and I, we love our UGG boots and slippers! They are super soft, cozy, comfortable and warm. My son gets a new pair of UGG slippers every Christmas and literally wears them every day; he walks in the door after school, kicks off his gym shoes and slips on his UGGs. He wears them so much that by the next Christmas he has worn out the sheepskin. My daughter has slippers too, but she is a bare-foot mama and refuses to wear slippers even in the dead of winter on cold tile floors. But she loves her UGG boots and looks so cute in them.
I have worn my UGG boots in cold New Jersey winters and mild Atlanta ones as well. UGGs are meant to be worn without socks and even in snow my feet have never been cold. However, if you tend to let your pedicures go in the winter, you might want to re-think that; taking off your UGGs at someone’s front door with sockless, un-pedicured feet will not be pretty.
*I don’t get paid for my opinions in any way; this is just me sharing stuff that I like and I think you will too.
I am not so much a “nature girl”, but I do like looking at cool insects when I come across them. I saw this HUGE spider in my yard today and stared at it for like 1/2 hour (when I should have been working). Pretty scary-looking, huh? And it’s a female too (they are bigger and badder). Turns out that it is fairly harmless to humans. Not that I will get that close to test this theory.
“Crunchy” as defined from the Urban Dictionary
1. The characteristics of a neo hippy; quasi/modern day hippie.
2. Of high quality; excellent.
3. Keeping one’s cool in the most trying of times. Etymology: cap’n crunch, the cereal which stays crunchy in milk. Hence, when an individual does not life to get the best of him/her, that person is staying crunchy.
Yep, that’s me……all three definitions.
In terms of the first definition, I recycle, don’t buy plastic water bottles and use my own bags at the grocery store. Most of all, I really try to buy organic food whenever possible. Yes, organic food is expensive, but the health benefits out-weigh the cost. And I swear they taste better (especially meat…it tastes “cleaner”). To keep costs down, I buy whatever produce and meat is on sale that week at Whole Foods. Some foods retain more pesticides than others, so if you aren’t hard-core organic but want to eat more organic foods, start with these 12:
1. bell peppers
2. celery
3. grapes
4. peaches & nectarines
5. coffee
6. spinach (and other greens, including lettuce)
7. potatoes
8. tomatoes
9. apples
10. strawberries
11. dairy (milk, cheese and butter)
12. meat (beef, pork and poultry)
