Word From the Mother: Boots, Not Boobs

I know that I am a week or so behind (I just caught up on my Tivo’d programs) , but YEA!  Tanya won on “She’s Got the Look”!  I was excited about the show on TVLand where women over 35 auditioned to be a model.  My 6 year old daughter was with me when I watched the first episode and at first I thought it was fine…..
But then a woman came to the audition who was “well endowed”. The judges asked her (very nicely) if her “boobs were real”. I try really hard not to ever lie to my children, but I didn’t even want to get into that discussion, so when my daughter asked me to repeat the question, I said “they asked her if her boots were real.”
This didn’t make any sense to my daughter at all! She kept asking me: “Why would they ask her if her boots were real? What kind of question is that?—Of course they are real! Mommy, did she have on boots?”
That one–she doesn’t miss a thing!

That’s exactly the reason why when your children watch TV shows, be sure that you are there with them esp. shows like these! People are now tactless to what they are saying, thinking or doing! Thank God you were beside her and that happened! Good for you!
